ABSTRACT:
The paper compares four systems of classification of the Araceae: Engler's original (1905-1920), M. Hotta's (1970), J. Bogner and D. Nicolson's On press) and M. Grayum's (1990). All are compared against the backdrop of the traditional system of classification by Adolf Engler and against each other.
