We could also try to see whether we could do this after your extended period in Cali. Nothing is fixed yet and it would indeed be a unique chance for us to be in the midst of one of the diversification centers of aroids!!!

Hi Marc,

How long will you be in Cali for? Would it be possible for you to arrive earlier in Colombia as well? Maybe we could adjust the dates.
I will be very happy to talk to Alejandro and hopefully develop some collaborations. Of course we will have time for it!

Hi guys,

I am writing you about our upcoming trip to Colombia and some of the plans I have been trying to put together alongside Luis Nu=C3=B1ez.

We have contacted the staff at Jard=C3=ADn Bot=C3=A1nico del Choc=C3=B3-Jotaud=C3=B3 and they seem to be quite receptive to our visit as researchers. According to Luis and pretty much everything I have ever heard about, this is one of the most biologically impressive regions of the globe, as well as particularly rich in aroids and palms.

Initial plans involve a 5-7 days stay at the botanical garden. After the Cali conference we would go together to Bogota for a day or two and leave for the Choc=C3=B3. They expect us to present talks about our research, and Luis' idea os to even organize a 1-day workshop. Needless to say I would love to do some fieldwork in your company.
