Aroiders
I can add a further note to Scindapsus lucens. It is quite common in
Peninsular Malaysia with extensive populations in Negeri Sembilan
(Pasoh), Johore (road between Keluang and Mersin), Pahang
(various sites) and Terengganu (various sites). Most interestingly
these are all lowland sites so the site at Bk Larut (Maxwell's Hill),
which I assume is higher up (there is very little lowland forest
around Taiping) is an nice extension. Another interesting aspect
about S. lucens is that it is very catholic with regards habitat.
Plants at Pasoh are in lowland dipterocarp while the sites in Johore
are freshwater peatswamp forest. The Larut sites will almost
certainly be hill forest while the sites in Sumatera (note correct
spelling) are from abandoned rubber plantation.
