Pistia cultivars?
|
From: Jduft at aol.com on 1998.11.26 at 20:12:34(2784)
Is there a Pistia expert out there in aroid land? There are a couple of new
water lettuce cultivars being offered by aquatic plant nurseries. 1. One is
the same size as P. stratiotes, but the rossettes are smooth surfaced and
yellow green (Offered by water nurseries in Florida). 2. The second is a
dwarf, hardly 1-1/2 inches across (offered by Paradise Water Gardens in Mass).
Their origins are unknown. I would like to put a name to each for a
publication, and have photos of each.

No, I am NOT the Pista "expert, but saw a cultivar (?) that you have not
mentioned, just a couple of weeks ago entered in "The Pista Grow-Off" at the
Miami combined Aroid/Heliconia show at FTG. It had leaves with "wavy"
margins, and was quite attractive. Maybe it`s owner could post something on
it`s origins/availability??
