From: tychen at ippfwhr.org on 1997.05.06 at 21:10:44(723) dear aroiders, this may be a monotypic genus, but in our local indoor gardening society there is a fellow who has a gorgeous plant. the leaftlets are almost round and very plump and shiny. the little baby i bought at the philadelphia flower show 2 years ago have leaves that are longer, more lanceolate and the plant is slender, duller and darker in color. so it seems to me that there are at least different clones or varieties. tsuh yang chen, new york city +More ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Zamioculcas zamiifolia Author: PC :burns@mobot.org at INTERNET Date: 5/5/97 8:03 AM Kevin, What you see it what you get, but regardless of what the labels may have said, the correct name is Zamioculcas zamiifolia. There is only one species and to my knowledge it is endemic solely to portions of Africa. And it is a unique beast as aroids generally go. Dewey Fisk has one that is flowering at the moment.
