Les,
Get a book on portrait photography or plant photography. Lighting is
critical in plant photos and close-up flash is deadly to decent results.
Steve Marak posted a great analysis of digital photography on the Kodak a
while back. I can send you a copy as soon as they "untoast" my lightning
toasted computer.
