Alocasia plumbea |

It grows rather large - at least 2-ft leaves on 4-5 ft petioles. The
one in the photos is a small one that I received from Duke University Greenhouses
surplus plants distribution.

A very neat alocasia - the leaves are very dark green on
the upper side, and metallic-brownish on the undersides. Wine-colored petioles
age to almost black. |

The specimen in the photos has been accidentally mashed by another
pot falling on it (and got decapitated in the process). It still did not
quite recover, it seems - it's leaves are more crinkled than they should
be. |
