Ph. acutatum is the most common species here and grows in various environments, from dryer areas to the moist riparian forest. Both P. rudgeanum and Ph. blanchetianum grow only in the riparian forest and close to water edge, climbing the trees.
Anthurium longipes grows both in the riparian forest but also in dryer areas of scrub forest.
Overall minimum temps are 19 C in the rainy season (March-September) and maximum temps in the dryer season are around 30 C.

Dear Alex,

Aloha.

Could you fill in some natural history details about the habitat of Philodendron rudgeanum?  Are Philodendron acutatum and Philodendron blanchetianum found in the same habitat?  Is Anthurium longipes found only as a terrestrial?  What are the relative abundance of these species on the fazenda?  Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Aloha,

Leland
