  Re: [Aroid-l] Gonatopus soil tips?

Gonatopus rhizomes tend to stay within a few inches of the surface, even breaking the surface at times. It is a fat, compact rhizome that branches occasionally and=A0can "jump" the rim of the pot sometimes rather than circling the inside (it will do both). They are not fussy about soil. I use a sandy mix with some perlite and a little (15-20%) organic component. They require or benefit from a dry winter rest after they lose their leaves. G. boivinii seems to be better adapted to water any time of year.

This is my first season growing Gonatopus Boivinii and Angustus. Any tips for soil media? How long does angustus's tuber get? Does it need one of those super deep pots?=A0 Thanks in advance.
