[Aroid-l] Sending good thoughts for Denis' recovery/question about
From: Rosalind Gold <rozgold at pacbell.net> on 2018.05.14 at 03:14:27
Friends:

First, I want to join everyone in sending good thoughts for Denis' recovery.  I believe there were three generations of Rotolantes at the International Aroid Show in February, and Bill graciously arranged for me to visit and buy some plants from Silver Krome a day or so after the show was over.

I had a question about several of the anthuriums I purchased from the show.  I did my best to bare root them and carefully pack the leafs so as not to have them damaged in my suitcase, but some of the leafs appeared to have suffered a fair amount of damage when I got them home - I was traveling to Los Angeles.  It's very possible I crowded too many plants together, or didn't get the plants into pots quickly enough when I got home, but the plants that suffered the worst were the big heart-shaped leaf anthuriums, like Anthurium sp. crystallinum or Anthurium magnificum norte 2.

In a few cases, the leafs all turned completely brown, and died off, so I have a few plants with no leafs at all - just a stem and roots in a pot.  Is there any way new leafs will come from these stems or should I just discard them?  Anything I can do to get them to put out new leafs?

As always, thank you so much for any advice you can provide.
