Can anyone tell me what the spathe looks like on the above re:aroid. I have
one with 4 ' tall with 4 stalks with peltate leaves . Thanks for any
assistance given. Deni Brown's book does give a description on flower.Ray

Dear Ray,

There is a color photo of this
species (the book lists two species in this Indian genus) in bloom in The
Genera of Araceae, Plate 129 B. It shows several inflor`s, all
shorter than the leaf, arising from spotted cataphylls, they have boat-shaped
spathes that are colored light brownish pink, carried at an angle off the
peduncles, the club-shaped spadices hang at an angle downwards out of the
spathe, pointing at the ground, they are purplish with whitish prominent
stigmas. Hope that this is of help.
