Hi
Bernhard,

Lol? APPARENTLY it is
an abbreviation for laughs on line, very very funny, a bundle of laughs.

BTW - If some
kind real expert could list what the various very common acronyms
used in email actually mean, it might help some of us europs & antipods
to understand amerinetspeak

Danke viemals und Guten
Tag, Herr Doktor

Bernhard,

To my understanding LOL means Laugh Out Loud.

Some others include....

ROTF - Roll on the Floor
ROTFLOL - Roll on the Floor Laughing Out Loud
ROTFLMAO - Roll on the Floor Laughing my A.. Off (insert suitable word for
your posterior)

Then there are things like
TTFN - Ta Ta for Now (i.e Bye for Now)
BFN - Bye for Now

Hope that is of some help.

To the moderator..... feel free to delete this message if someone else has
already supplied this information.

Cheers.

GOOD idea! Maybe someone overseas (from OUR point of view) has a list and will share his wisdom...

P. Dost thou think Ye canst list alles fur us mere
mortals? It be good to have everything listed in a forthcoming
newsletter?
