  Book and Plant questions
From: Mattlagem at aol.com on 2003.01.14 at 03:54:27(9838)
Does anyone know where I could find a copy of The Schismatoglottidinae or
Schismatoglottis of Malesia, sorry can't remember how it is named, but it is
by Alistair Hay. If I can remember correctly it was put out by the Royal
Botanic Gardens-Sydney. Also, does anyone know of a source for Homalomena
speariae? Thanks, Michael M.

Hello Michael,

The Schismatoglottiideae book was issued as a volume of Telopea: A Journal of
Plant Systematicsand should be available from the Gardens in Sydney - they have
a Telopeasite with subscriptions info, and some articles temporarily online.
(The Gardens Shop also sells copies, but I'm not sure that it's offered online.)

Here's where there is a PDF of that volume (pics are only low resolution,
though)
http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/texhtml?form=Telopea_con&volume=9&number=1

The main Telopea site is at http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/Telopea/index.html

If unsuccessful with these links, some bibliographic info:

Telopea,Volume 9, Part 1, 2000.
A. Hay and Yuzammi. Schismatoglottiideae (Araceae) in Malesia I -
Schismatoglottis. Pp. 1-177.
J. Bogner and A. Hay. Schismatoglottiideae (Araceae) in Malesia II - Aridarum,
Bucephalandra, Phymatarum and Piptospatha. Pp. 179-222.

(Alistair - if you happen to be on aroid-L - hello! hope you're well - & hope
you don't mind me mentioning the online version of your work, rather than just
telling people to order hard copies...)

cheers
Eugene

like to oder it for myself, just like having a copy so I can pull it out
whenever necessary. Thanks again.

You might give www.bookfinder.com a try. I have found several hard to find
books that way.
