Black Stem and Red Stem

hello,
today i walked by the farmer's market at union square,
here in NYC, and again, this vendor had these plants
for sale. upon closer inspection, they are Alocasia
'Black Stem' but the 'Red Stem' turned out to be a
Colocasia. in any event, it's not often that one sees
these plants for sale. they also had Alocasia 'Royal
Hilo' and a Xanthosoma for sale. anyone has any idea
what species 'Black Stem' could be?

interesting... agristarts offer both a Colocasia and
an Alocasia 'Black Stem.'
