Eric,
It is a philodendron that I just call 'Red Hybrid'. You will sometimes see
it listed in the trade as 'Weeks Red Hybrid' or 'Weeks Hybrid'. Monroe
Birdsey gave me the plant years ago. He said it was a hybrid but did not
recall where he got it from.

The plant is a very compact climber. With a very thick stem and very short
internodes it can grow without support. The marbled red color on the back
of the leaf fades as the leaves age. Total spread can be over 8 feet. It
does not like direct sun. It has shown no cold damage to short durations
of 28 degrees F.
