I had purchased Yautia lila which was more expensive than the Yautia amarillo & Yautia blanca. Supposedly, lila is violaceum. I guess not from what you say. Regardless, it made a fine (and cheap) mass in the garden. I didn't, however, bother trying to eat it at the end of the season.
