Arisaema triphyllum

Next

This is one of the two native American arisaemas, the other being A.dracontium.

The three leaflets on each leaf explain why this arisaema is called "triphyllum."

Strangely (and contrary to the name), there are varieties of A. triphyllum eith five-leaflets in each leaf.

Close-up of the inflorescence.
Another inflorescence, on a plant that I am not quite sure is A.triphyllum, but everyone I asked is.
Growth habit of the above. Arisaemas don't do well in San Jose for me, and this one has expired.
