Colletogyne: Madagascar’s Spotted Aroid

Colletogyne is a monotypic genus in the Araceae family represented by Colletogyne perrieri, a species endemic to the Montagne des Français in northern Madagascar. This tuberous geophyte bears glossy heart-shaped leaves and produces white spathes with purple spots in dry deciduous forests on limestone between 100 and 300 m elevation.
