Dear Cassia:
Thanksfor your willingness to pass this on to Aroid-L. As I told you it is notPhilodendron angustilobum Croat & Grayum but I have always assumed thatthis thing came from the Burle-Marx collection. Perhaps it really is aspecies but I have always assumed that it was a hybrid, perhaps with P.pedatum. I am hoping that someone on the list might have more familiaritywith this taxon.
Tom

First of all, my best wishes for 2009 to you and all yourfamily!
Tom, could you please tell me if the material in the pictures can be P.angustilobum? It was collected in the Rio de Janeiro Botanic Garden (in cultivation) by Marcus and I fora Masters student working on Philos stem anatomy. I have checked the flowersand they match with your description. More ou less the material matches but thevinaceus color of the petiole and part of the spatheworries me.
Thank you very much for any help.
