The International Aroid Society does not condone the illegal collection and sale of wild plant material. We ask that members be aware that any plants, tubers or seeds they see advertised as wild collected may have been collected illegally in the country of origin, and may also have been imported to their home country in contravention of documentation requirements. The overcollection of wild populations is a serious threat to their survival, and members can help the cause of conservation by asking about the legal status and source of any wild collected material they may be tempted to buy. The wild collection and sale of wild collected plants is either illegal or highly regulated in most countries where Aroids occur.
