Hi there

If I were you I would not be too keen to let these plants go dormant in Zone 5. Here in the south west UK which is zone 9 in comparison my alocasias this year (odora, denudata, gaganea, sarian, portei, macrorrhizos and wentii) all bar the mac and gaganea have been reticent to come out from dormancy much at all. In fact odora is only on its third leaf now, wentii and denudata only have one in 3 months. So for sure I am keeping them in heated accommodation for the winter to keep them from going dormant

I hope whichever you decide, given the right amount of warmth in the spring can bring them out
