Niels Jacobsen Does Cryptocoryne ferruginea flower at full moon? (Buy)
ABSTRACT: In September 1978, Josef Bogner, Botanishcher Garten, Mtin~ chen, and I made a trip to Sarawak. The main aim of the trip was to study the Araceae of Sarawak, and among them the c. 12 species of Cryptocoryne that occur there. Coming to the end of our stay in Sarawak, we were, one evening, discussing the results of our stay and the question arose why we had not found Cryptocoryne ferruginea.

Niels Jacobsen, J. D. Bastmeijer, Claus Christensen, Takashige Idei, Conny Asmussen Lange, Jihad Orabi The use of AFLP markers to elucidate relationships within Cryptocoryne (Araceae) (Read)
ABSTRACT: Four species complexes in Cryptocoryne were included in a study of genetic diversity: The C. beckettii complex (Sri Lanka), the C. crispatula complex (Mainland Asia), and selected accessions from the di- and polyploid cordate leaved species from Malesia, altogether comprising 400+ accessions. The Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) method was discriminative not only within but also between species complexes. Within the cordate leaved Malesian species, it was also possible to discriminate between diploids, tetraploids and hexaploids forming very robust relationship groupings. The AFLP study also revealed that, geographical proximity exposed closer genetical relationship than morphologically similar accessions geographically apart.

J. D. Bastmeijer, H. Budianto, I.B. Ipor, M. Orgaard, Niels Jacobsen Cryptocoryne wongsoi (Araceae), a new species from Sumatera, Indonesia (Buy)
ABSTRACT: Cryptocoryne wongsoi is described and illustrated as a new species from northwestern Sumatera, Indonesia. Cryptocoryne wongsoi differs from other species with similar leaves and habitat type by having a hispidulous lower leaf surface, a 15 – 25 cm long spathe with an upright backwards-bent limb which later becomes forward bent or obliquely spirally twisted; the kettle is cylindrical without a distinct narrowing of the inner wall; the chromosome number is 2n = 34.
