 ABSTRACT: A review of the genus Piptospatha N.E.Br. is presented with new generic boundaries implemented since the last full revision. 10 species are recognized, two of them (P. marginata (Engl.) N.E.Br. & P. repens H.Okada & Tsukaya) recognized only recently as distinct species. Two species (P. angustifolia Engl. ex Alderw. and P. remiformis Ridl.) are treated as inadequately known. A key to accepted species is given, and all species are illustrated, the majority from living plants.

 ABSTRACT: Aridarum montanum Ridl. and Piptospatha insignis N.E.Br. (Araceae: Schismatoglottideae), aroids originating from Borneo that are each known from a single collection, are discussed and illustrated. The history of their discovery is reviewed, together with what is known or speculated of their ecology. The biological significance of the collection locality of A. montanum is highlighted. The species’ individual importance to modern systematics is highlighted.

 ABSTRACT: Seven new species of Aridarum are described and illustrated: Aridarum pendek S.Y.Wong, S.L.Low & P.C.Boyce and A. velutandrum S.Y.Wong, S.L.Low & P.C. Boyce [Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo]; A. alatense S.Y.Wong, S.L.Low & P.C.Boyce, A. surukense S.Y.Wong, S.L.Low & P.C. Boyce, and A. zygosetum S.Y.Wong, S.L.Low & P.C.Boyce [Kalimantan Barat and Kalimantan Tengah, Indonesian Borneo]; and A. hebe S.Y.Wong, S.L.Low & P.C.Boyce [Kalimantan Utara, Indonesian Borneo]. Aridarum caulescens var. angustifolium Bogner & Nicolson is shown to represent a further undescribed species from Sarawak, and is here published as Aridarum orestum S.Y.Wong, S.L.Low & P.C.Boyce. Together these seven novelties take the genus Aridarum to 21 accepted, described species. An identification key to all species is provided.

 ABSTRACT: Homalomena selaburensis P.C.Boyce & S.Y.Wong is described as a taxonomic novelty of the Homalomena Supergroup from forested Karst limestone in Samarahan Division, SW Sarawak, and compared with the most similar species described so far from Sarawak (Homalomena passa S.Y.Wong & P.C.Boyce), and from Peninsular Malaysia (Homalomena curvata Engl.). An identification key is provided and Homalomena selaburensis is illustrated from living plants.

 ABSTRACT: Piptospatha nivea is described and illustrated as new species, unique among Bornean Piptospatha by possessing a white spathe limb, and compared with the nearest most similar species, Piptospatha colata S.Y.Wong & P.C.Boyce. Aside from possessing a striking and unique inflorescence P. nivea represents an almost 300 km southerly extension to the known range of the genus.

 ABSTRACT: A second species of the recently established genus Fenestratarum is described, from Kalimantan Timur, Indonesian Borneo, as Fenestratarum mulyadii. This new species represents an over 600 km eastwards extension to the known range of the genus. Fenestratarum mulyadii is figured in colour, and compared to Fenestratarum culum in an identification key.

 ABSTRACT: Aridarum ashtonii is described as a new species from highland sandstones of the Hose Mountains, Kapit, Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. Aridarum ashtonii has previously been confounded by the authors with Aridarum burttii, a species occurring on lowland riverine shales. Notes on Aridarum burttii are given and the purported origins of the Type specimen questioned. Aridarum ashtonii and A. burttii are illustrated from living plants, and a key to the five species of the Aridarum Burttii Complex is provided. Recognition of A. ashtonii takes Aridarum to 26 accepted, described species.

 ABSTRACT: Furtadoa indrae P.C.Boyce & S.Y.Wong, is described as a taxonomically novel species from Riau Province, Sumatera, and compared with the most similar species, West Sumateran F. sumatrensis M.Hotta. An identification key to the described species of Furtadoa is provided. Furtadoa indrae is figured in colour from living plants, and a comparative figure of the spadix of all three described Furtadoa species is presented.

 ABSTRACT: Piptospatha bella S. Y. Wong & P. C. Boyce and Piptospatha lurida S. Y. Wong & P. C. Boyce are described and illustrated from Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. Their recognition takes Piptospatha to 18 described species. Piptospatha lurida is most similar to P. burbidgei, a species formerly allotted its own genus, Gamogyne, later made into a section of Piptospatha. Notes on Gamogyne are provided and a correction to published information on the placentation of Gamogyne offered.

 ABSTRACT: A preliminary conspectus of species of the Schismatoglottis Calyptrata Complex Clade for Sarawak is presented. Six species are accepted, of which Schismatoglottis baangongensis S.Y. Wong, Y.C. Hoe & P.C. Boyce is newly described, and S. muluensis M. Hotta is resurrected from within S. calyptrata (Roxb.) Zoll. & Moritzi. Current evidence does not support the presence of Schismatoglottis calyptrata sens. strict. in Sarawak, while occurrence on Borneo as a whole is questionable. A modified description of S. calyptrata, excluding characteristics of Bornean taxa hitherto included in synonymy is provided. An identification key to the accepted species for Sarawak is provided, and most are illustrated from living plants.

 ABSTRACT: A review of the Schismatoglottis Patentinervia Clade is presented. Six species are accepted, of which three are pre-existing – Schismatoglottis patentinervia Engl. (Kalimantan Barat: Melawi), S. pectinervia A. Hay (NE Sarawak: Mulu; Brunei) and S. retinervia Furtado (Sabah: Kinabalu) – and three are taxonomic novelties: S. belonis S. Y. Wong, Aisahtul & P. C. Boyce (C Sarawak: N & C Kapit), S. gaesa S. Y. Wong, Aisahtul & P. C. Boyce (Kalimantan Utara: Malinau), and S. smaragdina S. Y. Wong, Aisahtul & P. C. Boyce (C Sarawak: N Kapit). Morphological delimitation of the Patentinervia Clade is provided, all species are described and illustrated from living plants and pre-existing species also figured from their nomenclatural Types. An identification key is offered.
