Hi Sherry,

There may be 2 reasons of such leaf appearance:
1. A spontaneous mutation (if the next leaves will look the same, keep it secure, you will get rich :)
2. A disease or an intoxication. Often mistreated plants produce malformed leaves and inflorescences. Gardeners often treat plants with various chemical substances to produce multiple or malformed flowers, leaves in order to sell plants as new cultivars.

Best,
Marek Argent

Subject: [Aroid-l] 2 headed Dragon

Hi everyone,
A couple of months ago I had asked about a Philodendron I knew as 'Golden Dragon'. One of the plants I have, a cutting from last year has started doing a split of its own.  Russ, this is the picture I sent you.  I didn't see a picture of Michaels' picture, so I'm not sure if this is the same kind of split he's talking about.  If you look closely, you can see those spots starting to appear.  If anyone is interested, I'll send an updated picture and dimensions on or off list. This picture was taken on July 17th.   The original plant, mother to the rest, has a big "bloom" that still hasn't opened yet, but is getting bigger.  Russ, I know I've sent you pictures and pestered you to no end, but if you'd like to see a pic of how it currently looks...you KNOW I'll send it! (smiley face)
                                             Have a great, SAFE weekend!
