  Re: [Aroid-l] Philodendron xanadu inflorescence

Hi All=2C

This is a very deformed bloom=2C only the spathe color is correct. =3B See what a real=2C natural and single spathed bloom looks like in the description of the species in Aroideana.
This one demonstrates a stage where the meristem/main rhizome may in fact be splitting into two plants. =3B =3B This wide spadix/double spathe ''syndrome'' was discussed some time ago on aroid-L=2C and seems to be in common in aroids plants treated with chemicals or produced by the tissue culture method of reproduction. =3B On some plants a single flattened petiole but with two leaf blades is also common. =3B I THINK I replied to this before=2C but it might be lost in cyberspace as I did not see my reply on aroid-L=2C so here goes again!

>=3B first time I had seen this flower here.It was also
>=3B tall=2C nearly 4ft. tall.
