Just another example of leaf variability in the same specimen of Syngonium podophyllum 'Albolineatum':
(This is not S. hoffmannii).

Zach, although someone here may know what the common name "pincushion" refers to in the genus Philodendron your plant is extremely young and still in the basic juvenile stages.  At this point it is virtually impossible to ID a species unless a grower is really used to seeing the juvenile form.  You should know the plant may also be a hybrid but I have no personal knowledge of this particular plant.  All Philodendron species undergo morphogenesis during their natural ontogeny (life cycle) and the blades will change shape, likely many times, before they become mature.  This link on my site may help:

Julius is the undisputed expert on Philodendron xanadu since he co-authored the species to science so my guess is he will be along shortly with an answer to your first question.

I hope this helps!

I recently purchased a plant labeled Philodendron =91pincushion.=92  I can=92t seem to find this name listed in any of the reliable Aroid databases. The plant is very small, with leaves measuring 1-2 cm in length.  Stems are red and leaves are a dark green.  Does anyone know the correct botanical name for this plant?

Here is a good general picture of the plant: http://i4.ebayimg.com/05/i/001/2a/4a/24e1_1.JPG

And here=92s a lousy one of my ailing specimen: http://flickr.com/photos/zdufran/3218641930/
