Myke Ashley-Cooper: Tallahassee Florida. I'm growing a number of Amorphophalluses.
Only recently and accidentally discovered them while searching for "stinky black arums" on Google which I had grown in Cape Town prior to emigrating 21 months ago. Well . . . one thing led to another!

Subject: [Aroid-l] Enjoy Aroid l? Please tell us where you are!

I have a proposal to make to the International Aroid Society board of directors in September and would enjoy feedback from all that subscribe to Aroid l.  Please don't think you shouldn't respond just because you haven't joined the IAS.........yet.  Part of the proposal is to hopefully give you more reasons to want to join but no one is going to be calling you or flooding your inbox with mail!

Would everyone receiving these posts today hit "reply" right now and tell us what state or country you live in?  If you are willing, please also tell us what genera of Araceae you enjoy growing and if you have specific suggestions as to how the IAS can serve you personally please add a brief note.

If nothing else, please let us know what part of the U.S. or world is your home.

Thanks to all and please do consider joining your fellow aroiders on September 19 and 20 at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami, FL!  There will be lots of aroids to peruse and take home, great presentations, a wonderful tropical garden with a living rain forest to explore and great food at the Saturday night dinner!  Besides, Dr. Croat does great presentations!

Good aroid growing to all of you!
