  [Aroid-l] Dieffenbachia seguine 'Aurora'

We grew Dieffenbachia seguine 'Aurora' for a brief time in the 1980's. It grew rapidly and quite easily, but did not have a stout stem or the more compact growth habit of D. amoena 'Tropic Snow'. It grew so quickly that it flopped over and fell down. looking back at it in retrospect, mabe we were not giving it enough light. One of our  best customers was the Parrot Jungle (now out of the jungle and onto an Island).
Its variegation pattern was wildly variable and it had the most caustic sap of any of the Dieffenbachias we have ever grown...

Steve, I thought you might like to see this picture which I took today of a Dieffenbachia I acquired in the 1970s.  I was told that it is a variegated form of Dieffenbachia seguine called “Aurora”.  I have no way of verifying this.  However, like D. seguine it does very well in the ground here, rather than in a pot, and can even stand the fullest sun.

John.

I now have the correct address for Harry.  I've sent it to those that appeared to need it but if others would like to have it as well please send me a private note.  I have corresponded with Harry several times this week and he is well, just trying to get accustomed to his new surroundings.

Dear Denis:  I just got a message from Mike Bush and he and Harry (as well as Kiat Tan) all work in the same gardens in Singapore.  I will forward you Mike’s email. I have asked him to send me Harry’s email.  Harry emailed recently but I forgot to save his email.

No wonder my last e mail to him was bounced back.

Does anyone have a new email address for Harry Luther?

If you don't know, Harry left the Marie Selby Garden and is now in Singapore.  I have corresponded with him for some years and am anxious to pick his brain again!

Any help will be appreciated.
