Oh, Steve - this is why many arboretums do not allow public access. 
 It is also called "Tomato Mosaic Virus" (ToMV).  There is much
good published info on it.
If in doubt with regard to a plant having an infection - please take it
to the  lab within your County Agent's office.  Unless it is something exotic
they will diagnose for free in most cases.  This is an invaluable service.
