I visited there also in the late 1990's and they had amazing collections Costa Rican plants.  I believe they are still quite active in orchid research and publication through Franco Pupulin and Robert Dressler.

I visited the Wilson Gardens in Costa Rica (near Golfito) in the late 1990=E2=80=99s and at least by that time we had no difficulty in reaching it.  It is an amazing place.

Hi David,

Bob and Catherine Wilson did create a wonderful botanical garden in Las Cruces, Costa Rica. I understand it was off the beaten track and very difficult to get there. I was hearing about it in the 60s.
