Where to buy plants?
|
From: "Susan Cooper" <SCooper at cooperpower.com> on 1999.06.12 at 02:14:20(3430)
I don't think I've been getting all my mail- did people mail Stacy privately about where to buy bulbs or did I just not get the messages?
I'm sure there are a lot of us newbies that would like to know places to buy or trade aroids....
Perhaps we could add a page to the IAS site? Or does everyone guard their sources?
I know about Plant Delights, Glasshouse Works, Paul Christian,
AgriStarts, and Zone 10. Any others?
Sometimes I get lost in the "links" section while looking for sources. (She admitted sheepishly)
If you would rather email me privately, that would be great!
Thanks!

Hi Susan,
Three sources for Dracunculus vulgaris and possibly D. canarensis are:
Brecks at:
http://www.gardensolutions.com/
Heronswood Nursery at:
http://www.heronswood.com/
Brent and Becky's Bulbs(used to be called Daffodil Mart) at:
http://www.brentandbeckysbulbs.com/000consult.html
I've ordered from the first two and from the last one when it was called
the Daffodil Mart, but not since the name change. I've heard that it was
originally called the Brent and Becky's, then changed to the Daffodil
Mart and is now back to the original name once again. There might be
some difficulty in ordering tubers this time of year depending upon the
stage of growth of the plants owned by the supplier.
Good luck and take care,
Doug

Susan and aroiders:
I think a plant exchange list would be a
fantastic idea. Many things clump up and need
division from time to time, and then we run out of
space in small gardens for them, etc. And we can all
save money by bartering or selling low.
