  Amorph. ID needed.

I have my unknown amorphophallus finally in bloom. I got it from Wilbert,
labeled (I swear I did not misplace the label) as HAM 102, which was
supposed to be a bulbifer, and bulbifer it ain't.

See http://www.kozminski.com/Photos/Amorph1.jpg for the general
appearance, and http://www.kozminski.com/Photos/Amorph2.jpg for the
closeup of the inflorescence.

The thing is tiny - maybe 7 inches tall. The photos show it in a 1-gallon
pot. I missed the day it opened, and today there was no perceptible
smell.

Dear Krzysztof,

Your plant is not an Amorphophallus, it is a Pseudodracontium. At first
glance your plant looks like Pseudodracontium fallax. You can have a look at
the revision of Pseudodracontium with a key of the different species by Dr.
Michael Serebryanyi at the following address (it is very slow to download):

Dear Kris,

You COULD have asked me directly, you know. I DO know something of those
weirdos. Anyway, it is a Pseudodracontium and from the looks of it P.
lacourii. Why you got this plant with that number is beyond me. It must be
that a mistake was made during the distribution.

Cheerio,
Wilbert
