  Pesky Spider Mites!!
From: Jack Honeycutt jhoneycutt at uswest.net> on 2001.01.10 at 18:33:07(5842)
Thanks to all for the advice.

I guess I'll back off on the atomic weapons and give the soap a try
first. I have used soap in the past (maybe 15 years ago) and I don't
remember it working well. But I suspect it is time to revisit the issue.

Jack - the vital thing with soap or any of the non-awful pesticides is that
you must touch every insect or mite with the spray in order to kill them -
no "once over lightly" here. Also, in he case of the mites, it only takes
one to tango so the complete spray coverage is even more important. The
temperature affects the length of cycle, but if you hit three times at four
day intervals you should get all the adults and them those that they begat
and so on. Mites are not fun.derek
