Hello list

I receive today my august news letter;great thanks to the staff...and great
things inside!
I have learn ther that plants of alocasia 'san fernando gabi' will be
avalable in the Annual show..;and i am sure that i will not be there!!!!So
please if someone who go there may help to get this specie,off course i will
send the money in advance .Miami is so long than Belgium that my only chance
to ge(t this plant that only a help may help me!In some way a bottle in the
sea,or in the web...

Hi Dany,

FYI, we also have a 'san fernando gabi' here in the Philippines and it is
none other than the common Xanthosoma. It is widely cultivated for its
edible tuber. As I understand, it is introduced and has naturalized very
well here. It definitely is not an Alocasia.

I wonder if they are the same plant and only mis-named.

Can anyone may confirm or no if the plant that will be introduce by Dr Brown
in aroid sale this month is well an alocasia?With the description it seem
but like Georges say
that this plant is a xanthosoma...Are the 2 the same plant?
Any help me be appreciate
