Anyone familiar with Philodendron 'Soledad' What is it's orgin or
parentage? It looks a lot like P. x evansii.

Thanks,

In my opinion Philodendron 'Soledad' is just a trade name given to
Philodendron pinnatifidum by a tissue culture lab in California. I have
grown both from liner to maturity and can't see any difference.

I asked a friend of mine that should know... and he says that P.
'Soledad' was developed at Rancho Soledad Nurseries by Ms. Dawn
Hunter-Clark. He says that he believes that P. williamsii was one of
the parents...

I went to their website. The picture of it looks like it might be P.
williamsii crossed with another self header like selloum or x evansii.

Dewey, Thanks for dislodging the rust. It is Philodendron 'Olympiad' not
P 'Soledad' that is the same as P pinnatifidum.

My memory is perfectly good...it's my recall that's failing.

This Meco hybrid has sometimes come up in discussions here, so for anyone interested I added a very short note on the origins of this gorgeous aroid.

If I find out anything more I'll surely add it in.
