coconut disks

hi all,
i got some disks of coconut fiber some time ago. i'm wondering, how do you use them? do you soak it in water and mix with soil, perlite, bark, etc.? i think these have been de-salted so i don't need to worry about them but i was wondering what it can be used for. thanks.

depending where you get them from if you would get them out of the
forest use fungicide on it since it could contain funguses.
