Would someone who was at IAS extravaganza weekend in Raleigh be so
kind as to tell me what the name of the "free" plants being given
away at the door at the banquet is? I wrote it down somewhere and
put it in such a safe place it cannot be found.
Thanks in advance!

Marge,
The following were gift plants that were available at my place on Friday
evening:
| +More |
Globba sp. (from China, hardy in USDA zone 7)
Rohdea japonica
Clivia miniata
Peltandra virginica
Alocasia macrorhizus variegata
Jatropha (can't remember the species )
Globba schomburkii (these were in plastic bags)
and several odds and ends

Globba! That's it! Thank you Alan. Mine were in plastic bags -
guess they were left over from your place, as they were distributed
at the banquet. So, I assume what I have is Globba schomburgkii,
which from a Google search, appears to be a type of non-hardy
ginger...flowers look interesting.

Found one site that said they start to go dormant when temps. stay
under 65F and should be brought in to about that temperature - not
less - and watered sparingly for winter while they are dormant. Is
this what you'd recommend?
