Hybrid between Bornean A. longiloba 'lowii' and Philippines A. sanderiana. Glossy leaves with deeply undulate margins. Upper surface dark green with prominent silver veins. Faintly snakeskin-marked petioles. Easy growing and very pretty.
A. brancifolia
Small growing New Guinea species with very deeply dissected leaves carried on snakeskin-marked petioles. Develops a slim trunk as it grows older, at which point it resembles an Aglaonema with ferny leaves. Small green and brown spathes carried in clusters. Two sizes of plant available.
A. longiloba 'longiloba'
Variable species from non-limestone habitats (the limestone form 'lowii' will be available shortly). Arrow-head shaped leaves that are rich green with variously prominent silver veins and purple tinged on the backs. Snakeskin marked petioles in shades of green and brown. White spathe. Easy growing.
A. reversa 'Hanah'
Endemic to the limestone in SW Sarawak. Small growing species with beautiful canoe-shaped leaves that are steel grey with an olive green central area, the green colour continuing along the main veins. White spathes freely produces.
A. sarawakensis
Described as recently as the late 1970s, robust species (up to 3 m tall where growing strongly) with leathery leaves that have prominently veined on he reverse and are velvety hairy when the plants are young. Petioles are either green or lightly red-spotted. Clusters of white spathes with an apricot spadix. Two sizes available.
Colocasia gigantea
Large growing species (in the wild plants produce leaves up to 1.5 m long and 1 m wide) with wonderfully veiny thin leaves that are densely coated in white wax, the whiteness becoming even stronger when the plants are in full sun in wet soil. Fans of pure white spathes produce almost continually on mature plants.
