Sorry folks, for years I've told people that lawns are the most labor intensive plants you can grow, and in many cases the most expensive. But, in my case, they act as a ground cover and help to prevent erosion. Hilo has the highest rainfall in the U. S. The Spaths (and Monsteras) also become a problem when they invade the banana clumps and my fruit trees. I do agree that lawns are a pain in the grass especially when they grow 1/2" a day without fertilizer.

My best to all, Gary
