Arum Orientale
|
From: Baumfarn Webmaster webmaster at baumfarn.at> on 2005.03.13 at 13:25:16(12788)
I got seeds of Arum Orientale. I presoaked them for one day (24h) in
water and then put them in an earth-perlit-sand mixture (14.Feb., 2005).
Temperature warm (22?C-27?C), medium light, in a miniature greeenhouse
which give them high humidity rates. Occasionally morning sun.
Was this so far correct? How long will they take to sprout?
thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,
In the southern hemisphere I sow them in late summer / early
autumn and leave them exposed to natural rainfall under shadeclothe.
They germinate late autumn winter . We get a dozen or so frosts
per winter with maximum cold -2C.
I also add some dolomite to the mixture.
I suspect you are keeping them a bit too warm.
Cheers,
Rob in Tasmania
