  IAS Banquet Reservations
From: Albert M Huntington amh at ieee.org> on 2005.09.13 at 14:49:42(13351)
Folks,

Since there seems to be a general interest in this :

The deadline for mailing in your registration for the IAS banquet has passed,
but you may still attend and pay at the door. HOWEVER - we need to get an
accurate headcount so we know how much food we need and how many tables to set
up. If you're planning on attending and your registration was not mailed in,
PLEASE e-mail me with the names of those attending so that we
can get an accurate headcount.

Also of note - the deadline for online bids on the auction is rapidly
approaching, but be sure to check the auction web page one last time for some
last minute entries.

Thanks,
Albert Huntington

Folks,

A friendly reminder that if you would like to join us all for the traditional Banquet at the IAS Show and Sale in Miami this year ( Saturday, September 18th ), we need your reservations in as soon as possible, and certainly before September 11th.

Besides the traditional and delicious Cuban food, don't forget that Dr. Scott Mori will be giving a talk and the always popular auction of rare plants will be back as usual. For those who are not in the know - this auction is often a place to get some excellent deals on some very rare or one-of-a-kind specimens ... and your friend and mine, Dr. Tom Croat, has expressed his surprise and delight that we were able to snag someone of Dr. Mori's caliber as speaker this year.

Banquet
reservation instructions are at http://www.aroid.org/show/banquet_info_2010.php

Even if you want to wait until the show to pay, we do need to get your name on this list ... so at the very least, e-mail me privately ( huntington@aroid.org ) and make sure you are not left out.

I know that in the past, a lot of people have waited until the last minute for this, or registered at the show itself, but this year we need your help to get an accurate count.

All the best, and hope to see you in Miami,
--Albert Huntington

Hi Folks,

Just a note: if you're planning to come to the banquet this year, *please* make your reservations, or at least e-mail me privately and let me know you'll pay at the show. I know in the past we've had some flexibility, but it seems like *everyone* assumes they'll just get signed up automatically or at the show, and that's not the way it works.

Reservations can be made through paypal directly at: http://www.aroid.org/show/banquet_info_2011.php

And remember - Peter Boyce will be speaking this year. For those who have not met him, he's a very engaging speaker and active researcher well worth your time to see ... and we've been trying for several years to arrange for him to join us. He doesn't come to the US very often, so do not miss this opportunity to meet him!

Technically, reservations are due September 10th, but please don't wait until the last minute.
