  Amorphophallus titanum blooming size
From: "StroWi at t-online.de" <StroWi at t-online.de> on 2006.12.11 at 12:03:36(14911)
Aroiders,

I bet this question was answered before, however a search in the
archives gave no results; maybe I used a wrong key word.....

The background of my question is that people in the Berggarten,
Hannover, Gernmany just repotted the tissue culture derived titanum I
donated in 2001 when it was 6 inch high.

The last leaf was about 2 m ( 6 - 7 foot ) high and the weight of the
tuber was 3,9 kg ( about 8 1/2 lbs ).

What is the minimum tuber weight for blooming?

Thanks and good growing,
Bernhard.

Kathy Upton once flowered a miniature titanum of 9 kg only. The relative
sizes of parts of the inflorescence were quite different from a heavier one.
I have her pictures, if you're interested. Write me separately.

Cheerio,
Wilbert
