  Pseudodracontium ID please
From: "Daniel Devor" <plantguy at zoominternet.net> on 2007.06.10 at 01:15:40(15751)
Hi All, I had a Pseudodrac. open completely and
took a couple of pics. I wonder if anyone can give me a solid ID.
You can see the pic here:

It has a nice striping to the petiole which is
lovely.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

The stripes are lovely but they belong to Amorphophallus longituberosus and
not a Pseudodracontium. Lesson: Pseudodracontiums have a structured appendix
not smooth (see several pix on the IAS website on Pseudodraconitum! Don't
you visit that site?).

Cheerio,
Wilbert

Dan,

The plant in your pic is Amorphophallus
longituberosus.

Well, I have been there once before and I guess now that you mention it my
other Pseudodrac is as you say. I guess I just went too much by the ID I
was given and did not pay much attention.

Thanks so much,

Dan
