  Small amorphophallus inflorescence identification
From: David <onimua at gmail.com> on 2009.07.11 at 07:59:00(19494)
Hello,

I had this bloom (unexpectedly) A few days ago. I have no idea what it is, so I'm hoping someone can give me an identification on this species so I can properly label it.

Thank you.

I would guess Pseudodracontium lacourii . . .

Attached are pictures of my inflorescences this year.

I blew it!

I sent pictures of A. pygmaeus by mistake. I looked through all the aroid pics I took this year, saw that one, did not question the name and sent it off. I should have known better. Dopey me.

Yes, David, it looks to me like you have an Amorphophallus pygmaeus.

Thanks to all my friends and colleagues who pointed out my hasty and erroneous ID.

Best to all,

Christopher

Hi Chris,

This is an Amorphophallus, either A. pygmaeus or a species close to it (josefbogneri, operculatus, saururus or the like). Need to see the leaves too when they are ready.

Cheers,
Wilbert
