  Dracontium amazoense
From: "Daniel Devor" <plantguy at zoominternet.net> on 2010.10.17 at 16:28:28(21556)
Since I am on a Dracontium high right now I thought I would post a pic of my Dracontium amazoense that is blooming since I thought it turned out reasonably well.

I've also got 2 different species of Amorphs blooming in the basement right now...silly plants are a tad confused as to what season it is I think!!

Hallo Dan,

a beautifull photo of a gorgious plant !! what camera do you use ?

of course, it is the photographer that makes the photo - but it is good to know the tools.

the name of this species is apart, I would call it D. amazonense, but of course I am not a scientist.

good growing, Joep

The blooms don't do much for me but I love the petioles!
If anyone has an extra they'd like to sell, I'd be interested.
Thanks,
Susan

HI Joep,

Well, to be honest, when I do my hunt and peck on the keyboard I just never
add that extra "n" in amazonense, but I will try to make sure I remember it
so I do not mislead anyone in the future....thanks!!

I use a 10 year old point-and-shoot Olympus Camedia camera with an
impressive 3.3 MegaPixels and a 2x optical zoom. I'm guessing there are
not too many of those around anymore, but hey, if you get lucky with the
lighting even a blind squirrel can find a nut every now and again :o)

Glad you liked the pic,

Dan

HI Susan, While I agree the petioles are fantastic I am still smitten with
the influorescence on this genus!! I wish these were more common here, but
they just seem hard to track down for me. If any of mine go dormant over
the next year I will try to set aside an offset for you :o)
