  Lemna -- how many species?
From: Jason Hernandez <jason.hernandez74 at yahoo.com> on 2014.01.28 at 04:21:48(22976)
What is the currently accepted number of species in the genus Lemna? And are there any keys to the entire genus?

Jason

Five genera, 38 species.

Landoltia 1

Lemna 13

Spirodela 3

Wolffia 11

Wolffiella 10

I am not aware of a complete key, but I don't have Landolt to hand to see if there is one.

Hiyer Jason!

Try this link:

http://waynesword.palomar.edu/1wayindx.htm

Keys to genera are at the top of the page.

As an interesting aside, apparently here at Kansas University we have a very large collection of duckweeds from around the world, here in our herbarium. I have not checked it out yet . . .

Happy days!

Christopher

Hello,

Some keys are here, but probably outdated as this page is about the Lemnaceae family.
