id of a very strange plant please
From: "StroWi at t-online.de" <StroWi at t-online.de> on 2015.02.22 at 17:27:32(23222)
Aroiders,

there is a request about a very strange plant, maybe an aroid, in the aroid-f.
Since the forum is not very active at all I post the link here.....

http://www.aroid.org/aroidf/viewtopic.php?f=4&t65&p71#p1471

The message is rather long; just open the jpg links in middle of the message; you will see a really extraordinary flowering plant....

I could copy and paste answers via the aroid-L into the aroid-f.....

I have no idea what spec. that might be, but due to the strange flower, I am very curious....

Thx, Bernhard.

Bernhard,

Looks like one of the Texas aristolochias, maybe A. erecta from the
leaves. Very nice, in any case.

Bernhard,
Definitely Aristolochia and 99% likely A. erecta.

I don't think this is an Aroid, either. However, winter flowering (e.g. Arum) is not unusual for some Aroids.

This is an Aristolochia - Aristolochiaceae. Don't know the species but it will key-out easily enough in a a flora account for Texas.

Definitely
Aristolochia erecta, aka Swanflower.

Hello Steve, I don't know about seeds, but here is a site that
sells the plants....I think. I can't read German but that's what it
looks like. Slide down the page a bit for Aristolochia.

Maybe someplace like Native American Seed?

Try Lori Rubel (GeorgiaVines on eBay or georgiavines.com). She sells many different Aristolochia as seeds or plants.
