  SE Brazil Santa Catarina Aroids
From: "thornton-d1 at sky.com" <thornton-d1 at sky.com> on 2016.12.05 at 08:48:52(23711)
I am planning a trip to Joinville in SE Brazil. I believe the city is surrounded by Atlantic rainforest, but technically it is outside the tropics. Does anyone know if I will discover tropical anthurium, philodendron etc there ?I have never been to Brazil before and only heard of Joinville through the European Palm Society.

Dear,
Are you going to study or just observe species of the Araceae family in Santa Catarina?
See in this link the relation of species that occur in that state.

Thank you Marcus, that link is rich and wonderful, I'll be able to observe so many aroids, as well as palms and orchids. If I really like it there, I am thinking of buying a holiday home there, but I would have to be sure
Regards
David

Folks,

Just a general note regarding floras, checklists and so on. At the urging of Marc Gibernau, I have added to the aroid.org website a page for indexing such things as they relate to Araceae. It may be found at http://www.aroid.org/floras/ and is also accessible by the new "Floras" link on the main menu at aroid.org

If anyone has more suggestions for links we can add, they are always greatly appreciated.

All the best,

--Albert

Dear Albert:

I also want to remind people that most know floras, checklists, revisions and anything dealing with taxonomy are also listed in detail in the folder under “History of Taxonomic
work with Araceae” which is on the IAS website. I realize that we need to update that again as it has not been done for a few years. Carla and I intend to do this and we do keep adding stuff to our copy but it is a big task and hard to update, especially
with the prodigious people like Pete Boyce!
