  Philo Dr. Mansell
From: "Steve Lucas Exotic Rainforest" steve at exoticrainforest.com> on 2006.09.28 at 06:44:22(14680)
Does anyone know Dr. Richard Mansell?
There is a plant in a friend's collection tagged "Philo Dr. Mansell" with a
mention about Richard Mansell. Both he and I can find Dr.
Mansell's name on the internet but the email address is bad. My friend
would love to find out more about this plant and if possible the origin.
I'm attaching a photo. Thanks! Steve

If anyone is looking for an Aroid person a good place to
start is the "Aroider" list on the IAS site www.aroid.org

Thanks Susan. Unfortunately, the
address on that list for Dr Mansell is invalid and mail was
returned.

Thanks. That's where I located his email address and
phone number originally on the internet. The email address is dead and
when I called the university I was told he was no longer there. If anyone
knows where the good doctor has moved I'd appreciate the assist so hopefully we
can locate some information regarding the plant that apparently has his
name.

Checking 411.com gave the same home phone number that was in
the aroider list, but I think that it is likely still to be good.

They give

Richard
L Mansell
13508 Little Lake Pl
Tampa, FL 33613-4134
(813) 961-7072

As the current address and number. Worth a try if this
wasn’t the number that you already tried.

Thanks to all who responded. I've tried that number as
well but no answer and no answering machine.

Dick disposed of most of his aroid
collection when he contracted cancer and was also devastated by drought one
summer. Some went to Lynn Hannon and I now have her stuff but I don’t
remember seeing this plant at all.

Dick still lives at 13508 Little Lake
Place, Tampa, 33613-4134 but also lives part time in Tennessee.

Thanks again Tom. We'll try to post him a note with the
plant photo and see what comes back.
