Does anyone know of a good source for unusual and large species of Marantaceae? Im looking for larger growing and preferably non-variegated species.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks,

Most people think of Marantaceae as being tropical, but our native Thalia dealbata, which is about 8' tall, is hardy to zone 5 and makes a spectacular focal point in a water garden.

Michael-
I have seen quite a few plants from the Marantaceaefamily for sale on eBay. There is currently a large plant listed as Calatheatigrina, available from the seller mda1515:
http://cgi.ebay.com/XL-20-Rare-Calathea-tigrina-banana-fam-lrg_W0QQitemZ270362775126QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item270362775126&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
This seller has good feedback, but I don’tknow if the identification is correct.
Good luck!

Agreed....my Thalia dealbata growing outside in a pool is already up. Anyone outside of zones 9/10 grown Thalia geniculata? It is such a sight when seen in the wild in areas of Florida. Id imagine since it grows all the way to the Georgia border and in parts of the panhandle it could take some cold.
Thanks,
